This is because each nurse owes his assigned patient duty of care and if a patient may need any assistance in his absence then such kind of a person's character is irrational (Croke, 2003). Nurses are entrusted to work as a team because the profession demands respect for human dignity and protection of patients’ right of consent. Therefore, when a nurse leaves a patient on his own before the next person on duty takes charge is a deviation from the duty and treated as deceit to the patient.

According to the nursing code of ethics, assumption of duty like a change in a shift without following the right procedural of officially signing out and handing over to the next person in shift is treated as negligence and should not be tolerated (Croke, 2003). Filing out the NCLEX examination application was one of my best achievements after 3 years of study. Before I could participate in this, I thought it would be an extensive process involving many questions bearing in mind that it requires 3-year advance preparation.

In my opinion, this is one of the recommendable steps in the field of nursing because license acquisition is privileged to the practitioners who seek actual job applications. Moreover, Filling out the NCLEX examination application has helped me to upgrade my level of competency pursuant to my nursing career. Despite the fact, the application process seeks to envisage nursing students’ criminals and educational backgrounds, it is seen as a leeway to relieve the practitioners from any unethical and irrational conduct.

(ANA, 2010). Though the application process is more of a formality, I believe the medical condition question is over emphasized. For instance, I found that the mental retardation question should have been less important at this stage, but I realized the nursing board uses this to ensure that those receiving the incenses have sound minds and can make positive judgments while taking care of the patients. Moreover, I found it very difficult in filling the section on using uncontrolled illegal and dangerous since some of the issues are prohibited in any health practising institution.

Having sent my application, I was fully convinced that, the essential step in the nursing study is now over and just looking forward to the physical job applications after I shall have received my license with a lot of anxiety to serve sick people with all my heart (ANA, 2010).
